Even if you use the same model of amps of a competitor, the amps may sound slightly different from one to another. So what you first have to discover is how the one you're using right now is to be handled, while with Hughes & Kettner all amps and boxes of one series are the same. Once you have your tunes and settings, you can immediately start with the knobs in the same position on a different H&K amp and it sounds exactly the same. Loud, overdriven, powerful tone that cuts like a chainsaw through a three when you hit a chord. Or when you pick up a solo, it kind of sings with the tone you´re bending. So the Switchblade came along and made my playing easier to control and handle sound wise. And now the Coreblade is here !!!! That having a voicing knob to make it even more easy to get just that tone & voice that im looking for...

And I will not look anywhere else when the soup tastes right....

BIO

Since 1987, Lars Johansson has been lead guitarist with Candlemass, the heaviest doom metal band to ever come out of Sweden.

Born and raised in the north of Sweden, Lars started playing guitar at the age of 12, being influenced at that time by – among others – Jimi Hendrix, Ritchie Blackmore, Jeff Beck and Leslie West. Lars later moved out to the south of Sweden to get serious with music, and, after two years in Stockholm, he met the other guys from Candlemass.

Since then, the band has released 11 studio albums, five live albums, four DVDs and a bunch of other stuff to huge global success. On top of that, Lars has also released some music on his own under names like Zoic, Creozoth and Fat.Mo.Mac. Candlemass has toured Europe, North and South America in its time, and these days concentrates on playing the world’s largest festivals.

Lars has been endorsing Hughes & Kettner since 2005 and is well known for his fluid and aggressive yet sensitive style with a magic mix of classical and bluesy playing.

He plays Hughes & Kettner Switchblade & Coreblade heads and matching 4x12 cabs, and recently also added the GrandMeister 36 to his amp arsenal…
