He graduated with honors in classical guitar with Maestro Luigi Mazzullo at the Conservatory of Cagliari, has always flanked to classical studies a profound interest in jazz and improvised music.
His main interest has always been in the attempt to reconcile the technique and the search for the sound of "cultured" music with the improvisational approach typical of jazz and popular music.
He attended various Masterclasses and specialization courses including the Norcia summer courses (where he obtains the Diploma of Honor) the Siena CPM and the Nuoro jazz seminars, and graduated in Music Teaching.
His first important experience after classical studies, is the duo with Massimo Ferra, with whom he won the first prize in the "Posada jazz project" in 1996 and published his first CD "Difficult Steps".
Then began an intense collaboration with the bassist Sandro Fontoni with whom he recorded the CD "New Stones" and "Che c'è" (the latter with the presence of Paolo Fresu) both enthusiastically reviewed by specialized magazines in Italy, England and USA.
Also began a collaboration with the saxophonist Roberto Ottaviano first in a duo then in a trio with cellist Vincent Courtois.
In 2001 he was invited to participate in the "New jazz meeting" of Baden Baden in the company of prestigious musicians such as Michel Godard, Wolfgang Puschnig, the same Vincent Courtois and Gabriele Mirabassi.
In 2003 the "Ammentos" trio was born with Fausto Beccalossi and Salvatore Maiore, with whom he recorded the so-called "Ammentos" and "Remarkkramer" for the Velut Luna label (with the latter CD he won the Kramer prize in 2008).
In the same period together with Salvatore Maiore and Roberto Dani to the project "amada" with which he recorded the cd of the same name (judged among the best cd of the year 2007 by the specialized magazine All about jazz). With both these projects he performed in important exhibitions in Italy and abroad.
In the territory of world music he was one of the most assiduous collaborators of Andrea Parodi, for whom he also curated (with four hands with Salvatore Maiore) the arrangements of the "armentos" project.
In 2006 he met guitarist Al di meola with whom he recorded the live cd Midsummer night in sardinia.
A year later, Al di meola invited him to permanently join his quartet "new world symphony" with which he recorded 4 CDs, a DVD.
For the last two years he has been playing in a duo with Al di Meola himself, touring all over the world. The clarinetist Gabriele Mirabassi invites him permanently in his project "canto d'ebano" with which he records for the Egea records the homonymous cd awarded as CD of the year by the prestigious "Top jazz" referendum organized by the magazine Musica jazz. He collaborates with the London singer Norma Winstone in duo.Ha played in numerous international festivals with musicians such as, in addition to those already mentioned, Pat Metheny, Kenny Wheeler, Trilok Gurtu, Marc Ribot, Chris Laurence, Martin France, Guinga, Paolo Fresu, Antonello Salis, Stefano Battaglia, Furio Di Castri, Mark Harris, Horacio Hernandez, Noa, Gil Dor, Miguel Angel Cortes, Elena Ledda, Mauro Pagani, Gabin Dabirè, Luis Agudo and many others. He has taken part in the recording of numerous CDs besides those in his name, as a guitarist and arranger.
In the field of classical music as well as solo recitals he often works as I guitar in the Orchestra of the lyrical institution of Cagliari in works such as La vida breve, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Otello, Don Pasquale, Concerto for Bandoneon and Piazzolla Orchestra, Falstaff etc.
He performed as an electric guitar soloist with the Arena di Verona Orchestra, the Italian premiere of Turnage's "Blood on the floor" concert for jazz trio and orchestra.
He took part in the making of the music of the film "Agata e la tempesta" by M.Soldini and played in many theatrical performances. He taught jazz guitar at the Parma Conservatory.
In 2010 he published the cd "Itaca" for Egea records in the company of Gabriele Mirabassi, Kile Gregory and Salvatore Maiore and Antonio Mambelli, who received flattering reviews in the specialized magazines and, again for Egea, just published his new work "The Veil of Isis "also entirely of his compositions.
