JAIME TREVINO

Jaime Trevino plays lead guitar for “Sunset BLVD”, a band that will transport you back to the golden age of music, the 1980’s! Featuring your favorite songs from some of the era’s biggest bands, including: Bon Jovi, Poison, Motley Crue, Van Halen, Aerosmith, Def Leppard & more. Every show is ‘Live without a Net’ – just pure 80s rock delivered just like you saw on MTV during the peak popularity of whammy-bar acrobatics and big hair. Jaime has had the opportunity to play on the same bills as some of his biggest influences of the era, like Night Ranger, Winger, RATT & Sammy Hagar to name a few. While at a resort in Punta Cana, Jaime somehow persuaded the actual Tawny Kitaen to come onstage to dance during a cover of “Here I Go Again” on the pool stage. Yes, that actually happened. Yes, it was sweet.

When Jaime isn’t busy performing, he can be found in his garage soldering cables to make custom snakes and patch panels to build turnkey rack and pedalboard rigs for him and his friends. He also likes collecting guitars and typically starts modifying them to his liking within the first day of ownership. Most collectors shudder at the thought of taking a dremel tool to their guitar but you gotta remember… there is a reason hockey players willingly cook their shiny-new, expensive ice skates in a red-hot oven – for that perfect fitment. For that purpose alone, Jaime tries to encourage players to try different pickups and a wealth of other mods in their guitars. It’s his goal to chase tone and help other guitarists find their sound too!

“Being in this band has been a blessing in a number of ways. I have performed at places that I would have never imagined having the opportunity to, which is very humbling and an honor. My main goal is to get every single person in the crowd to smile. You never know what stress or ‘season’ someone may be going through so if I can use my guitar to bring joy to them for a few hours, that is the best return I could ever ask for. It really has been an amazing ride so far and I’m excited to see what the future holds.”

My fans demand the sights and sounds of 80s arena rock and hair metal so it’s my job to deliver that. I need my gear to be as versatile and consistent as possible; night after night. The Hughes & Kettner Black Spirit 200 has become a key ingredient in that recipe for me. It all started because I needed a compact and lightweight amp for fly dates. Gigging musicians know that backline gear can be hit-or-miss, so I like to take my own gear whenever possible. Aside from the core tone of an amp, it needs to feel good to play too. The Black Spirit 200 just does it. It’s extremely reactive and does that ‘special thing’ that I’ve grown to expect out of any good tube amp. It nails all of the tones I need for a 2-3 hour set and even takes pedals like a champ. It’s been my go-to amp for shows, session work, rehearsals and even on the tour bus to stay fresh between performances. The Black Spirit 200 is truly just a workhorse and is a whole-lotta amp for a variety of styles – and I’m proud to play it!
